Choir: Kids were roasted down in Waco, Jimmy Jones passed out Kool-Aid,
Why does madness spring eternal? 'Cause it's all a big charade...
Intro: There were reports of a raid on a religious compound in Waco, Texas by Federal
authorities in which members of the Branch Davidian cult, armed with weapons, refused to
surrender to authorities and died in a blaze reminiscent of a 4th of July celebration in Hell.
All in the name of God.
One will lead, some will follow, a shepherd needs a flock,
Anyone who has a brain, can see that it's a crock
Some are strong, some are weak, that is Nature's Law,
There are those who use religion to pervert their fatal flaws
How can someone go along, with what we know is wrong,
Anyone who has a brain, would not need to belong
The body is the temple, God is deep within,
Playing God is a game that no human being can win
Anyone who has a brain, can see through Passion Plays,
If God is watching over us why can't he come today?
Anyone who has a heart, knows suffering and pain,
God is watching over us as we go down the drain
Learn your lessons from this life and move on to the next,
Anyone who has a brain, can see that we've been hexed
Watch for the ones who ask you for a dollar for your dream,
Their books and words and churches are a complicated scheme
Sleight-of-hand and words of fear, can shake you to your soul,
Anyone who has a brain, would never give them control
Oral, Jim and Tammy Faye take money from your hand,
God put us here to punish us, he doesn't give a damn
Anyone who has a brain, can see through Passion Plays,
If God is watching over us why can't she come today?
Anyone who has a heart, knows suffering and pain,
God is watching over us as people die from AIDS
Voiceover: In the modern era it is difficult to understand who people would join a religious
cult and follow their rules, even to the death. In Jonestown, Guyana, almost a thousand people
committed mass suicide at the direction of their leader, the Rev. Jim Jones. May God help
them understand the error of their ways.
